The less often seen “other Monstera”, Monstera adansonii has an unmistakably bizarre leaf form. Monstera friedrichsthalii is a synonym. (It is often incorrectly referred to as Monstera obliqua)
Natural holes appear almost immediately- the leaves are on average about 5-6″ long, but will get considerably larger on mature plants allowed to climb.
This plant has a fast moving vining habit- it prefers bright light / part sun, humidity and rich organic soil. Plant it against something it can climb on and watch it get big. Creates a very exotic jungle look.
Can also be grown as a houseplant in a pot or hanging basket. Very cool!
